Am disappointed with my experience yesterday. For a 15-20 mins procedure, my child and I, were at the hospital from 7.30 until 4.30. Even the afternoon appointments were completed before we left. We should of been a morning appointment but got seen like the afternoon appointments. Everyone went to lunch before looking at my child who was nil by mouth which is disgraceful. Surely when they assess the patients at 8am, the quicker appointments should go first after the babies? There were no babies btw so why did we have to wait over 6 and half hours before being seen, especially when we want to stay at home and not get affected? Does not make sense, if I wanted an afternoon appointment I would of booked and afternoon appointment, not wait around for 6 and half hours. My poor child was distraught.
To make matters worse, the play team ignored my child with no communication and we felt discriminated against.
The sisters on the ward were helpful, but it is all out of their control.
We were told to write to PALS with feedback but do PALS actually do anything apart from write a letter stating generic sentences back and that's it, nothing ever gets done about it when clearly the system failed. This is twice an appointment over ran for a long time and I've only been to the hospital twice, therefore 100% failure. Please avoid if you can especially with children.
