Got the dreaded letter in to say my smear test was due. Booked an appointment at North West Kilmarnock Area Centre to have it done, and worried about having it done for the week leading up to the test. Was seen by an exceptionally pleasant nurse (not sure of her name) who instantly put me at ease. Explained the whole process and answered any questions I had. This brilliant nurse made an unpleasant procedure much more bearable! We need more nurses like her!

Thanks you for your post.

It demonstrates beautifully the importance of a friendly, compassionate apporach to patients. Technical ability is important but its these human skills that really make the difference to our patients.
