"Colposcopy at Ward 1b"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was feeling a little anxious about having a colposcopy but as soon as I was asked to go through I was met by the nurses, Rachel and Janet, who were friendly and welcoming. The consultant, Miss Rao, explained exactly what she would be doing and I felt immediately at ease.

The examination was not painful at all and I was able to see exactly what was happening on the screen at the side of me. Rachel and Janet made me feel relaxed throughout while Miss Rao explained what she could see as she carried out the examination. Before I knew it, it was all over.

If I had known how easy it was going to be, there would have been no need to be anxious.

Thank you, ladies.

Dear Hydwg49,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback for us following your recent visit to the gynaecology outpatient department at Pilgrim Hospital. All our staff pride themselves on delivering personal outstanding care, attending to each individuals needs. We understand a colposcopy appointment can be a very anxious time for many of our ladies and its lovely to hear our team was able to reduce that anxiety and make you feel more at ease during your procedure. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto the whole team, and in particular to those you have taken the time to name personally. May I wish you well.

Take care

Tracy
