"Appalled at the level of care"

About: King George Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I have not had a review in over a year to check if my meds are actually working.  My appointment was cancelled at the last minute and when I rang, I was told that nothing I can do - wow...really.  I was out of medication, my GP cannot prescribe as I am still under the care of Rheumatology.

This staff have been totally uncaring in their approach. I was supposed to be back on my meds in March this year after I was told by a consultant to stop taking the meds.  The continuity of care in terms of follow up has been horrendous. I rang my GP directed me to Rheumatology to restart my journey.  Despite several calls to Rheumatology, no one responded.  In desperation (I was getting sicker and sicker) I rang my GP pleading and crying for some help as I had not slept in weeks for being in pain (animals would not suffer in this way).

Then a letter was sent from a nurse in Rheumatology who clearly had not read my notes/history and sent a subjective (their opinion - not facts) to my GP making seem like I was not co-operating when the truth of the matter is that i was just following medical advice.  If someone has simply taken the time to read my notes, it would have been obvious what happened. Instead I was being blamed for what I believe to be someone not doing their job
