My husband was sent home with a fractured pelvis and was in great pain.I had no warning that he was cominghome, there was no care package in place and it was a Friday late.I was on my own age 72 with no help at all.Fortunately I had an appointment with my physio on Saturday, who told me to get in touch with the rehab physics in Shaftesbury. Two nurses came to help me on Sunday morning, and it took them an hour to help my husband to the bathroom on a wheeled commode to wash and change him. I was so grateful to these nurses, and they were not happy about the discharge of my husband and felt something had been missed. They managed to get an ambulance and take him back to Yeovil. The outcome was they had missed a fracture on his hip and his right leg was very swollen. He has now been sent to Bristol hospital being treated for a dvt on his leg,and surgery on his hip. This should never have happened and I can only say that I am very upset and disappointed in Yeovil.
