When the arthritis in my know flared up, I couldn’t walk I was crying with the pain, when I phoned the doctor unfortunately there was no other painkillers she could give me, due to the fact I was on very strong medication, I was so upset all I could do was cry at the doctor, I was then put onto Sam, an occupational therapist, at first I was really upset with her too, I couldn’t see what she could do for me, seeing as she couldn’t give me pain relief either, after a couple os sessions with Sam I was calmer and ready to listen to what she had to say, she taught me about routine and not exerting myself, she also got me aids for the bathroom, 2grab rails at the bath, I couldn’t have a bath due to the pain trying to get in and out, these really helped, she also got other stuff to help me, I can now (on good days ) look at things differently.
