"Skin lesion removal under local anaesthetic."

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Dermatology

(as a service user),

Ambulatory appointment at Forth Valley Royal to have Nasal cell cancerous lesion removed. Appointment received by phone last week with good instructions. Slightly late getting taken but signs displayed saying to speak to receptionist if not taken writhing had an hour. The surgical nurse specialist came and got me from reception and apologised for being a bit late then fully Checked all my details examined me and explained the procedure. Throughout the nurse and support worker chatted away and the procedure went smoothly with no pain felt. I was given both verbal and written instructions on post op care and contact details should I have concerns. All appropriate PPE was worn and social distancing practised. Was a pleasant experience. Thank you.

Dear Stewash,

Thanks you for taking the time to leave such a lovely, detailed review. It is great news we were able to take a traumatic experience and make it a little less overwhelming.

There are many reasons for a clinic running late, many of them valid, but none of which make it any easier for the waiting patient. Thank you for your patience.

I hope everything is going along as planned and you are healing well.

Thanks again

David
