"I cannot speak too highly of the treatment"

About: Cameron Hospital / Recovery & rehabilitation Cameron Hospital / Stroke care

(as the patient),

I had a Stroke and was taken to Ninewells Hospital. Then I was transferred to Cameron Hospital. I was told the Physiotherapy was exceptionally good. And since I’ve been here it’s been proved. I cannot speak to highly of the treatment I’ve had since I’ve been here. Now looking forward to next step before going home. Coming upto Christmas everyone has been very busy preparing Christmas trees etc, and I know that everyone who has to stay here over Christmas will be treated well   and looked after in a happy atmosphere. Well done Letham Ward.   The domestics are very efficient and friendly.

Dear hawkqe57,

Thank you for taking the time to place an opinion on this forum. In this unprecedented and very challenging time for the NHS, staff, patients and the public, it is heart-warming to have the hard work and dedication of our staff acknowledged. All the staff endeavour to provide the best possible care and environment, acknowledging that patients also find themselves in hospital over the festive period and perhaps not able to be at home with loved ones. Our therapy staff have specialist stroke knowledge and skills, which means that we take every pride in striving to meet clinical best practice standards. Letham ward operates as a well oiled multi-disciplinary team and I am proud to manage the therapy staff that provide that service. I hope you continue to make progress and that it will not be too long before you manage to get home.

Kind Regards,

Lorna Mackenzie, Intermediate Care Manager, East Division

Thank you for posting such a positive review of your time spent in Letham ward here at Cameron. This has been such an unusual time for everyone involved in the NHS but staff have continued to provide person centred care during the pandemic. Staff will be heartened to read such positivity. I do hope that your rehabilitation journey continues to go well and that your next step to home comes soon.

Kind regards

Carol Logie
