As a long term outpatient at LHNN in Queen Square London, I observed several staff members who were doing blood tests at the Basil Samuel Outpatients appearing to spend most of the time relaxing and chatting in their small office while knowingly keeping patients delayed for lengthy periods. This is a scandalous waste of NHS money and patient time. I was recently kept waiting for half an hour and the patient before me was kept waiting even longer while the relevant staff were sitting in their office talking. The staff member in charge of this service appeared to show no concern about this blatant behaviour.
