"New outpatients dept"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

Who designed this?

How can elderly, infirm or disabled get up that step path if they travel on bus or in own car?

I cant go alone now because I physically couldn't get there.

Tiny waiting area, and microphone to ensure entire room hear my personal information plus any questions I may need to ask were staff consulted on this?

Will trust be responsible when patients fall trying to get there? Absolutely insane! What about in winter? Rain, winds, ice, dark?? Patients having to cross entire site to get to reception for taxi calls etc, using one lift, how can that make sense?

I literally cannot get to outpatients without assistance . Its brand new!!! Did designer know sick and old and disabled people use a hospital? Were they aware that patients arrive via bus and car? Can you tell me the distance and slope from middle carpark to department?

Were staff asked? I think not.
