"paramedic response to my father"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a service user),

My father, who is very elderly became unwell this afternoon.   A paramedic team responded.   Paula, Lucas and Andrew were gentle with my dad and undertook a thorough assessment. They listened to our family's concerns when discussing the options.   They were calm and respectful throughout. They helped to get dad settled and contacted the out of hours doctors on our behalf.   They provided a skilled, reassuring presence and we are very grateful for their support this afternoon.

Dear Mrs McC

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your appreciation for our staff, I'm sure you were very worried about your father, even after the care he had received.

My name is Rachel and I am the Care Opinion facilitator for NIAS. I would like to be sure that Paula, Lucas and Andrew get to read your story and a little more information would allow me to identify their manager, but only if you want to contact me. You can reach me at careopinion.admin@nias.hscni.net.

I hope your father is recovering and I'm so pleased that our staff helped to reassure you during this worrying time.

Rachel

Dear Mrs McC

Further to my earlier response, I was able to identify the crew that attended your father and have alerted them to your story so they can see for themselves the impact their actions and behaviour had on you and your family.

Thank you once again for sharing it with us.

Rachel
