"Excellent care recieved"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 11b)

(as the patient),

I'm writing to pass on my praise to the staff of ward 11B ENT at QEUH. I was seen, assessed, treated and discharged all in one day and felt really listened to, involved and empowered in my care. I was given options for treatment and allowed to consider them and choose the one that suited me best. This really helped me when I was feeling ill and I really felt heard by staff, so thank you. It felt like the staff were working with me, in partnership, to work out the best course of action. Nothing was being done to me, it was being decided with me and done for me which I felt was really great patient care.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, HCAs, porters and all other staff involved in my excellent care. I cannot remember all your names so please take my thanks collectively but I'm sure you know who you are when I'm saying a huge thank you to you all.

I felt rotten, I didn't want to be there, I didn't want to stay in overnight and the staff worked really hard to ensure that I received the best care, treatment and got to go home to my own bed as well, in order to continue treatment at home. I really appreciate the efforts to make this happen. Many thanks to everyone and hope you all stay well and stay safe.

Dear Happy Patient 77

Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your experience.

It’s great to hear about the person centred care you received from the staff in Ward 11B and that they were able to ensure that you went home the same day.

I will forward your post to the Ward and I’m certain that Senior Charge Nurse Rodger and her team will be delighted with such positive feedback.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Take Care

Nicole
