"Raising the height of a sofa"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Occupational therapy for adults

(as a relative),

My 91 year old mum was having real difficulty getting up from her sofa so I contacted Age UK who pointed me to her GP so that it could be done free for her after an assessment. Tracey visited her to do the assessment and my Mum found her extremely helpful. She agreed Mum would benefit from the sofa being raised and even suggested a few other things that might be helpful. My Mum being very independent declined these extra options but was happy that the issue with the sofa could be resolved.

After this visit the work was done swiftly and it has made a big difference.

I am very grateful for the help provided and that it was given so promptly by such nice people.

Dear Hils3955,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback of your mum's positive experience of the Adult Occupational Therapy Service.

I am pleased to hear that Tracey was able to help your mum maintain her independence with the raised sofa suggestion. I will pass your comments onto Tracey, who I am sure will appreciate your kind words.

With best wishes, Sharon
