I had to attend the hospital for a CT scan last Thursday, the area where we waited was a long tubular steel bench sectioned for covid risk. There was a lady waiting in there also she had been waiting over an hour before being seen. As she went in for her appointment an elderly gentleman arrived with his carer for his appointment and was about to take up the previous ladies seat. I told them it had not been cleaned or sanitised and they sat elsewhere. There were plenty of people around in high vis but no cleaning was happening that I saw – very worrying. I did report it to some staff but nothing happened while I was there.
When I went in for my scan, I informed the staff member carrying out my scan about this and they were very angry about it, as they were meticulous within that room even wiping my glasses. I am very concerned that there was no obvious cleaning happening between the patient arrivals and appointments during this time of Covid pandemic. There was plenty of people around surely someone should take responsibility for the hygiene and safety of patients.
