"Smoke from staff members"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as a service user),

It's awful to be walking into the hospital, worried about our unborn baby, my partner not able to stay with me the whole time and to walk through a cloud of smoke from Staff Members smoking in the bike park. In todays society I find this a huge contradiction.

Dear Unhappymumtobe,

Thank you for getting in touch to let us know, it must have been very distressing for you and your partner. Please accept my sincere apologies and I will look into this to see if I can identify the staff members involved.

Since we moved to our hospital being smoke free, our staff if they must smoke are expected to change out of their uniform and leave the hospital grounds.

Hopefully a reminder to them all will prevent this happening again.

Thanks

Liz
