"GP’s need training in peri menopause symptoms "

I had a telephone consultation with two GP’s at the surgery regarding peri menopause symptoms. I was told I couldn’t start HRT because I hadn’t missed a period and wasn’t having hot flushes. I explained that my cycle was 15 days shorter and had been for 2 years. The GP’s need to get upto date with menopause symptoms and the long term benefits of HRT - what I was told was incorrect. I paid to go to a private menopause clinic - I have been taking HRT for 4 months and feel like my old self again. Shame on Higham surgery for letting women down in this area.
