"GP appointment"

I have had an ongoing cough now for 13 years, in the beginning I had various test done including chest xrays, blood work for immunity and allergies, numerous GP appointments, and bronchoscopy.

Most test were carried out in England where the cough began and as I moved back to Scotland they continued but only text carried out in Scotland was Bronchoscopy.

I was given a diagnosis of Hyper Reactive Asthma but no amount of in halers or other medication relieves the cough at all.

Yesterday I was in work and suffered chest pain so 999 ambulance was called and I was taken to hospital. Thankfully all tests were clear but consultant said it was inflammation if the sternum and soft tissues, probably from coughing.

Because the cough is so unpredictable it comes and goes when ever it wants nothing seems to trigger it. From March 2018 until December 2019 I had 8 bought's of my cough which apart from causing me trauma, then affects my work life leading to sick time.

Now with Covid 19 every time it appears I have to get tested, this is also advise from GP.

I decided to email my GP this morning to be able to chat to her more about this ongoing issue and the problems it is now causing me. Also to try and get advise on where we go from here to resolve the cough. I got a generic email back from my GP practice to say that GP do not accept emails from patients and I was to ring for an appointment to get an appointment. So I rang and the first available telephone consultation with my GP is not until 22/12/2020.
