"Hard working , brilliant teams at medway hospital "

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I was taken in by my husband as I had gripping pain, no ambulances for 4hrs. On arriving and once I got checked in not that the lady on the deck seemed to give 2 hoots I was sobbing in pain and my husband had to leave me due to regulations. But once I was in the care or the nurses/ doctors in section 3 and the urology team it all changed they made me feel cared for they took what I was saying on board they kept me updated with my diagnosis gave me pain relief and generally kept a close eye on me, they were friendly run off their feet and I could see why their were no ambulances with the amount of people being brought in. Some very abusive towards the nursing team which I feel was unacceptable shouting at them, telling them let me out for a fag or I'll bang you.... being sick and saying oh well gives you something to do..... this was the same team taking care of me they were nothing less than compassionate so I dont see why they have to put up with this.

I was told my operation would be first thing in the morning so no sleep for me as still nagging pain and could get comfortable but the team did try the offered me chairs move the bed. They gave me more pain relief to help me cope. Then the urology team took over off to theatre such a friendly team making me laugh and putting me at ease a nice few injections and off to sleep I went. Then in recovery the 2 lovley ladies made sure I was ok. Nice cuppa tea and biscuits they were chatting to me helping me get in and out of bed. Explained what would happen now made sure the doctors came and saw me which they did. I could not fault the medway hospital team, under such uncertain times they are still giving 100% and keeping the place so very clean,

Looking after everyone.

I do need to return but an not worried at all about this.

WELL DONE MEDWAY X and sorry so people do not appreciate you x
