"Recent experience in hospital"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine (Wards 9-12)

(as a service user),

Where to start.

Arrived at Ward 9 via A & E and Ward 2. Whilst both A & E and Ward 2 provided excellent care and treatment, my stay with both was short term. On the other hand I was a nuisance to the staff of Ward 9 for 5 days. It is difficult to find the correct words to praise the staff and I mean all staff for the level of care I received. Word of my experience has travelled far and wide particularly when I tell people that I have not laughed so much in the past 20 years. You have to bear this in mind as Ward 9 is a Cardio ward.

I assure you it had nothing to do with my medication.

In these uncertain times I am certain of this; if you do need medical care, it would be difficult to find more professional, caring and understanding staff. please take a bow, one and all.

Dear cj2020

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of your admission to Ward 9 at University Hospital Hairmyres.

I am delighted that your care and experience was so positive. The whole team work extremely hard to provide patients with the highest standard of care possible and I will ensure that your comments are passed onto the team. It certainly sounds from your lovely comments that the staff were able to make your stay as "enjoyable" as possible - laughing is certainly a great tonic and makes us all feel better!

I was also pleased to read that the care and treatment you received whilst briefly under the care of staff in both A&E and Ward 2 was excellent. Please be assured those staff will also be notified of the gratitude you have expressed.

Thank you again for taking the time to post your experience and hopefully you are now on the road to recovery.

Best wishes.

Lesley
