"Fabulous staff"

About: East Surrey Hospital

My 2 year old grandson had split his forehead open. My daughter who is breast feeding a newborn was unable to take him to A&E. As I am part of her "support bubble", she phoned to say I was bringing him in. The reception staff remembered the phone call and it was a smooth professional transition to the paediatric A&E. All the staff, from the first person I spoke to, to the final APN, were really lovely. In paediatric A&E, it was a calm friendly atmosphere and my grandson at no time showed any signs of distress or anxiety. I wish I could remember all names of the staff that dealt with us, but suffice it to say they were all brilliant - especially the ANP's who eventually glued him back together :-). He didn't object to anything they did to him, which was done with the utmost gentleness and kindness. A big thank you.

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding the treatment of your grandson, I have forwarded this feedback to my team and the ACP group.

We value all feedback provided by families of the children and young people we treat and we inspire to learn from this to improve the experience for all who attend the paediatric emergency department.

Many thanks,

Tony Newman
