We had to visit Glasgow Childrens Hospital last night after a bed time gymnastics accident! It's every parents worst nightmare, especially during a global pandemic but I have to say every aspect of care was flawless.
From the friendly HCA who met us as the door to ask the essential covid questions, who spoke to my daughter and not just to me which I think is really important in any setting and generally made the situation a bit less scary with his positive attitude.
Social distance and PPE measures were all in place and we felt safe as a result.
Our triage nurse Rachel was lovely. She was so patient with our daughter and let her lead the way she was cared for and accepted her boundaries. Not to mention rewarding her for her bravery with a rainbow ice lolly which was the best part of the whole experience .
Dr McMaster ST3 came to review her eye and nose in the minor injuries unit and he too was very friendly and gentle. He completely respected her feelings / when she was scared. We've seen a few doctors throughout the years with our 3 kids, some of whom I must admit I hoped never specialised in the area as they lacked the gentle and compassionate touch required for working with children but Dr McMaster was completely attuned to kids needs.
Thankfully a quick visit with no serious injuries but thank you to all for caring for her so well.
