"Reassuring and friendly."

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

We had to attend the children’s A& E at QEUH after my 5 month old baby went blue around his mouth. All of the staff were brilliant, reassuring and friendly from the moment we arrived. The nurse who assessed my son on arrival was excellent as were all the nurses who dealt with us. I wanted to thank the doctor who treated my son, I can’t remember her name but she had an Irish accent with purple glasses. Thank you for being so kind and caring towards my son and ensuring that all relevant tests etc were carried out before we were able to go home. I felt very reassured that he was getting excellent treatment and my baby very much enjoyed getting to babble away to you while being examined. Thank you again for everything you did and do on a daily basis - I left feeling very confident that we were fine to go home and that nothing alarming was going on with my son.

Dear F110620,

I hope that your son continues to being doing well at home. It would have been such a frightening experience for you with your son going blue around the mouth, and I hope that you are also doing well.

I am happy to hear that you felt our staff within the department gave excellent care from your arrival at the department until your and your son's discharge, along with the reassurance and confidence that you were able to take him home.

Your thanks will be passed on to the nursing and medical staff of you feedback, of which I am sure they will be delighted.

Thank you again for taking the time to send a response of your experience whilst visiting the Emergency Department
