My mum was really poorly yesterday and attended her GP. They called an ambulance and my mum was taken to Accident and Emergency in Stafford Hospital.
When my mum arrived she felt very unwell. One member of staff advised that she needed to take my mums blood pressure and asked if she could take her arm out in order to do this. My mum has really bad Psoriasis over her body and an extremely unprofessional NHS staff member asked my mum if it was contagious before she placed to blood pressure cuff on her arm.
I am absolutely horrified that this member of staff thought it was appropriate to say this to a patient. I think they need to be educated and realise that psoriasis is not contagious. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
"Psoriasis is not contagious"
