"Tick Bite"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

My experience of being bitten by a tick is unusual but severe. The practitioner nurse I was looked after by was superb in respect that although it as a controversial subject within the medical profession she was accurate and swift in her actions which were beneficial.

I would be most grateful to know who she was so that I can elaborate on the gratitude I have for her regarding the care she gave me that night because it was till 2.30 am Thursday 22nd October 2020 she attended to me.

After the treatment she and a doctor referred me to the infectious diseases/intravenous department at the City hospital with a same day appointment. Five weeks after the bite I am just able to stand on the foot without any pain.

Thank you Michael for this excellent feedback, I’m glad you were helped by a member of our team who you felt confident in, and that you are now making a good recovery. If you wanted to be able to pass a personal message of thanks on to the nurse practitioner who treated you, our Patient Experience Team may be able to help – you can get in touch with them by emailing QMCPET@nuh.nhs.uk.

Best wishes

Clare Mayfield
