"Continually mis diagnosed "

About: Manor Hospital

I have spent a year trying to get a diagnosis since first going to the manor both at A & E and as an inpatient ... they couldn’t find anything wrong... I have ow been diagnosed with fluid on my brain and what could be tumour ... after my GP told me of MRI findings he said he will make an urgent referral to see a neurologist at the Manor ... there is no way I want treatment there ... each time I have been there it was short staffed and some of the ones there should be working elsewhere other than in the “caring “ profession ... the toilets were filthy .. because of staffing levels they were late or even missed my medication ... I asked one nurse on ward 29 for anti sickness meds 2 hours later still waiting despite asking the same nurse several times .. eventually I saw this nurse going off duty I asked if she had arranged for meds to which she ignored me I asked so I have to ask my husband to bring my own anti sickness meds and bring my special needs daughter with him in to which she shrugged her shoulders ... my husband had to bring my special needs daughter with him who wasn’t well at the time ... I complained to the nurse in charge on the desk but to no avail ... so no care there no compassion ... absolutely dreadful ... had this hospital carried out MRI’s to rule out or confirm a diagnosis but no they didn’t ... it Saddens me to say the people who I turned to and put my faith in let me down not just once but countless times...

Thank you firstly for your comment and I am genuinely sorry for the experience you have described. From your account and the subsequent GP referral it is clear you have lost Trust in the organisation which is not what we want for any of our patients. Furthermore I am sorry to read that your experience of staff behaviours did not live up to the values we hold as an organisation.

If you do wish to discuss this matter further or would wish for us to investigate please do come back to us via 01922 656463 or email patientrelations@walsallhealthcare.nhs.uk

Regards

Garry Perry
