"Broken femur"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Broke femur August this year and was admitted to ward 15 and operated on the next day.  Staff could not have been better and was transferred to ward 14 where staff were equally good even though they were under a lot of pressure from what I consider difficult patients.  Managed to leave hospital after four days, the last night being sleepless because of patient causing disturbance.  Staff showed remarkable patience and am most grateful to them for their care and to the doctors who performed operation.

Making good progress after physiotherapy,

Jezabelle

I am so pleased your operation was successful and you are making good progress, it is also very kind of you to mention the involvement of Porters who carry out patient transfers and the Security staff who would assist with difficult patients. The aim is to try our best to ensure the patient journey is as smooth as possible,it is very pleasing to hear that our staff have played a small part in making this happen for you.

Thank you for your feedback

Dear Jezabelle

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of your recent hospital admission on Care Opinion. I was delighted to read that you were pleased with the care and attention you received from all the staff involved. I note your comments around being disturbed during the night by a noisy patient and appreciate this can be unsettling, especially when you are recovering from a surgical procedure. It will be my pleasure to share your lovely post with the staff in Wards 14 and 15, who I know will be appreciative of your gratitude to them.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery at home.

Lesley
