"Miscarriage"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gynaecology Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I miscarried about 3 weeks ago at 6 weeks pregnant on a Saturday night. Due to the bleeding becoming heavy I had to go into maternity assessment at 10pm and was seen quickly by a midwife and a doctor. Thankfully the bleeding subsided so I could go home and arrangements were made to be seen by EPAS on the Monday.

The staff at EPAS could not have been any nicer and sympathetic towards my partner an I. From the radiographer to the midwives to the nursing assistants everyone was lovely. After finding out that we had miscarried our baby after both scans (one to confirm that everything had passed) we were led to a private room to sit which allowed us time to grieve in a private area away from everyone else. I can't think the staff at EPAS enough who seen me so quickly during these uncertain times.
