We arrived at Poole General A&E at 06:15 on 12/11/2020. We booked in and things were a little slow at first. the complication was that my wife Kassidy had ongoing treatments from the Ladybird Ward, Oncology and the A&E. It took a while to get the treatment through blood Tests, x-rays, IV induced dosages, pain killers, Surgical recommendations and ultimately a focussed surgery. All of the people involved were beautiful people, well mannered, humorous, dedicated and very kind. I can only thank these wonderful people and I was privileged to see their dedication. This day has restored my belief there is some compassion in the world today. Kevin

Dear Mr Griffin

I'm sorry to hear that your wife had to come to the Emergency Department and that it took some time to sort out the correct treatment plan for her. Hers was obviously not a straightforward case so clearly safety and establishing the correct way forward were essential. Sometimes this can take a while as a number of different specialities have to be consulted.

I am so glad that you found our staff to be so caring. As you will be aware, NHS staff are under huge pressure at the moment. As well as their own domestic concerns during the pandemic, they have to deal with extraordinary work pressures and worries. As you say, they are caring, dedicated and compassionate.

I will pass your comments on to the staff who cared for Kassidy and their managers. There's nothing like a lovely email from a patient or relative to lift tired spirits. Thank you for taking the trouble to send it. It will be much appreciated.
