"Help with alcoholism"

About: CGL Birmingham / South Hub

(as a service user),

I’ve been with CGL Birmingham for a couple of months now, and wish I’d done it sooner. The team are fantastic - they take time to understand you as a person, and then tailor the approach to the individual. As an Army veteran, I have been lucky enough to become part of a veterans group alongside my regular therapy.

I honestly couldn’t suggest a way this service could improve. It’s fantastic.

Dear Jimboozle

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I'm Lydia and I'm part of the team who responds to people like yourself, when they share their views about our service.

It was really lovely to read about your experiences. It sounds like the people involved in your treatment, have done an excellent job in providing you with the support you needed. Your feedback has been shared with the team, including their managers, so they can learn about the positive impact their help has had for you.

I have spoken to Craig, one of the people who runs the veterans group and he wanted to share this with you:

"I'm glad that you feel our group's approach has complimented the other support you have received. As one of the veteran leads I am extremely proud of the care you received by our service. The veteran group was set up by veterans for veterans because we recognise there can be specific need requirements for the veteran community.

Our Armed Forces protect our nation with unwavering honour, courage and commitment. The military community prides itself on its closeness and camaraderie — its strength in numbers and above all that’s how we run our group, as equals, as people, as veterans together. We move forward as one. Thank you for the brilliant feedback!"

Jimboozle, we wish you all the best for your future recovery and thanks once again for taking the time to share your views.

Kind regards,

Lydia
