"My experience of excellent care"

About: Inclusion Isle of Wight

(as a service user),

I have struggled with fears and anxiety after a list of traumatic experiences in my life and found relief from opiates...any just to feel happy and in control. I have tried many different drug agencies etc to find a way of getting out of this cycle and until inclusion became what it is today....ie since ideas their whole approach and empathic dynamic of treatment is as far as I'm concerned second to none and I speak as someone who's fought this for 20 years.

My last key worker mark ALWAYS listened, never judged or talk down to me, I found his empathy refreshing and thanks to him.....though I must also mention bikky and Kieran too I'm finally getting to the end of this destructive behaviour though I do believe it served a purpose for a while as I would have committed suicide by now but it becomes a ball and chain of constant planning and fear of withdrawal. thankyou to all the good souls at inclusion and I hope they get more funding and encouragement regarding Tony's voluntary ideas which I am hopefully to become a part of the furniture. great people great service and restoring the beauty if life back into those who were simply damaged. thankyou

hawkwind, I would like to start by thanking you for your feedback.

During these exceptional and challenging times comments like yours here can really lift the team. They remind us why we do what we do and give us the idea that we are on the right track. I will pass your comments on to the team.

As you mention, we have assembled a very passionate and empathetic team and we are so glad to hear that you feel this has been valuable to your treatment and recovery. It is you, though, who has taken the opportunity to access advice and support and taken charge of your recovery journey. You mention the volunteer program we have built on the Island and we feel that lived experience and contagious recovery can be an inspirational step for others and elements of your own experiences can be helpful to others on their own unique recovery journeys. I am glad to hear that you have been in touch with Tony (our volunteer co-ordinator) and he will keep you informed of some exciting opportunities coming up over the forthcoming year.

Thank you so much again for this feedback and I look forward to hearing more about your progression through our service.
