I was struggling with Health anxiety triggered by the death of my mum. I researched how to get help with this and referred myself to IAPT. I had sessions for general anxiety before being referred onto Rashmeet for specific help with my health anxiety.
Working through CBT with her has been enlightening. I had no idea what to expect, but have now been equipped with various strategies for coping with anxiety. The weekly sessions were great for me to focus on getting myself better and will enable me to continue the work we started on together by myself. I could never have imagined a time where I wouldn't be in a state of constant anxiety, but through the sessions have learnt how the things I was doing to diminish my anxiety were in fact maintaining it, and in some cases, making it worse. If you're struggling with health anxiety, I would thoroughly recommend getting help - there's nothing to lose and everything to gain.
