As a full time carer for my 102 year old mum I need all the help I can get. Through SDS I receive an hour and a half daily for personal care and 4hrs per week respite/companionship for my mother. The carers are phenomenal. I cannot praise them enough but the company’s management leaves a lot to be desired.

They, the management, all work from home through the pandemic. The invoices arrive promptly for payment but I have had to plea for them to be returned with receipts so that my paperwork can be submitted to the Council when requested. Last month I received the paperwork requested for the first time since May. Ive requested a rota several times and received one today. ( Your site was highlighted hence this complaint). Ive had to resort to photocopying the invoice and cheque prior to posting payment ( the office not being open) so that the Council have proof of payment.

The carers lately have been arriving 1 hr late without prior notice. It turns out that the office has changed their slots, but I am never informed of changes.

It is obvious to me that the carers are stressed but they dare not complain to the client.

New carers appear without introduction and I have to spend time showing them the procedures. Anyone wearing PPE can walk in and I have spoken to the office stating that I’m not happy about this. I would prefer to know which carer to expect in advance.Burglaries have taken place in our street recently and the movements of the carers around here would be easily observed.
