I was sent to the bladder and bowel service after having repeated urinary infections. The bladder nurse was very friendly and after a few tests which showed urinary retention, referred me on to see the urologist. The urologist was not very helpful at all and discharged me without any further investigations.
Thankfully I was still under the care of the bladder nurse and she did another referral to a different urologist as she could see that my problems hadn't been resolved. This new consultant was lovely and did further tests which led to me having a small operation. The surgery was a success and I have remained well since then.
If it hadn't been for the bladder nurse, who took my concerns seriously and re referred me, I would still be unwell today. So I just wanted to say thank you and to highlight how essential this service is. I'm very grateful for being listened to and believed, and feel lucky that I had the bladder nurse to help me get my quality of life back. Thank you.
"A service that made a real difference."
