"My relationship with alcohol"

About: Inclusion Visions Thurrock (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service)

(as the patient),

My relationship with alcohol began 30 years ago, I eventually reached a point where I realised the relationship is killing me and my family. I called Inclusions and was greeted by Kerry who helped me straight away and sent me the link to a Cuppa with Kerry. My sobriety began then and I’m so pleased, the group chats are not what you would expect and bring some sanity to an otherwise maddening addiction! Thank you Kerry and Lee for all your support. I look forward to more chats and maybe we will all meet one day in person

Dear IPickle

To change and move on from a 30 year relationship is such an achievement, Alcohol or any substance can become so central to our lives. That take courage and a lot of commitment!

Very glad you got in touch and that you found the groups so helpful....and a way of making sense of things. I am hoping others read this so they can be inspired and also see that alongside all the changes due to the pandemic, virtual groups can still offer support and made a difference

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences, I have passed on your comments to Kerry and Lee and the rest of the team.

Take care and hopefully in time you can meet Kerry and Lee in person

Kindest regards

Emer
