After being contacted by my podiatrist who had discovered that my heart rate had increased my GP referred me to the cardiology assessment Hub - all in a little over 4 hours. Thus it was that I entered the Hub to be greeted by Michelle. From then on I knew that I was in extremely capable hands.
With the various tests being completed Michelle informed me that I had atrial fibrillation, that I would be on medication and that there was a plan which would culminate in an electrical cardioversion, everything duly came to pass and as a result of the medication and the electrical cardioversion, my heart rate slowed and steadied.
Throughout the entire process, from the initial E.C.G. and detailed explanation to the echocardiogram to the electrical cardioversion I found the members of the staff in the Hub to be highly professional being competent, dedicated, diligent understanding inter alia - and everything accomplished with friendliness and a sense of humour.
I couldn't speak highly enough of Michelle, Andrew, Janet, Rachel, Pamela, Jeri-lee, David (student) and the others, and I have been singing their praises ever since. It is to be hoped that the hub, an essential service, is allowed to continue to function for the present members of staff have certainly enhanced its reputation.
