"An excellent patient-centred experience"

About: Central Surgery

On Tuesday, October 20th, I called my GP at Central Surgery about a growth I had recently discovered in my groin area. The growth had weighed very heavily on mind in recent days. When I explained the symptoms and the distress it was causing my GP rearranged her diary for that afternoon so that she could examine me in person. She explained that a growth in that area could have serious implications, which should be diagnosed promptly. My GP kindly promptly rearranged her diary for that afternoon so that she could perform the physical examination. This was arranged for later in the afternoon, which was carried out by the GP, along with another healthcare professional. Throughout the examination, the procedure was explained to me clearly, and was performed in a friendly, business-like, and very focussed manner. After the examination ended I was given a diagnosis and recommended course of treatment, which the GP set in motion. I am immensely grateful to my GP at Surbiton Health Centre for arranging the appointment at such short notice and for diagnosing the problem so quickly and arranging a treatment plan in such a seamless, efficient and supportive manner. What I experienced on October 20th embodied everything positive about the NHS.
