(as a relative),

I recently found out my partner and father of my daughter has been hiding a drug addiction from me for Three years. Incredibly painful and upsetting time and he has left us - my daughter only 10 months old when he left. 

I enquired about One Recovery initially for my partner and I was offered the opportunity to receive family support from Lucy. 

I have had about 5 fortnightly conversations with Lucy since, and her support is so valuable. She reminds me that the way he is behaving and acting towards me is not my fault. And gives me such strength that how I’m dealing with things and responding is appropriate. She had seen me develop as I have got stronger and not blaming myself any longer...and she really shows she cares for both my daughter and I. 

Many thanks. The service provided is really great and something unexpected. It feels safe and I can be true and honest with lucy and not judged.

Thanks for much for taking the time to share your experience of using our family service. I am so sorry to hear that your family has been impacted drug addiction, the ripple effect on everyone is hard and often very painful as you mentioned above.

I am so pleased to the hear that the sessions with Lucy have help you take stock and accept that your partners use and behaviour is not your fault. It is great that you feel safe, supported and that Lucy really cares, I dont know your case directly but I know that Lucy is such a valued professional within our team, she is passionate about her work and the people she works with. I will ensure she gets to see your feedback.

Keep accessing the sessions and growing in your own confidence and resilience. Can I wish you and your family all the very best.
