I was telephoned mid afternoon to say my husband was ready to discharge from the ward he was in. I Arrived at hospital just over half an hour later and handed his clothes in which he received 45 mins later.
About an hour later he phoned to say his medication was being go ready. Then some time later he phoned to say they had to find a wheelchair for him. Later still he phoned and said they had to find a porter to wheel him down. Then he was on his way down but first the porter had to go down to find another wheelchair which he could use. Eventually I was reunited with my husband having been waiting in the cold and rain. If a patient is ready to be discharged can everything be ready in place so that they can be collected within a reasonable time after being notified they are READY.
I would also like to say the care and treatment my husband received was fine and he had no complaints. Thank you
"Discharge of patient from ward procedure."
