For 5 years now, I have been dealing with the problem of very low platelets and I have needed to go in for regular blood samples and injections.
When I was first referred to the Seymour Unit at Barnstable Hospital, the standard of care was absolutely essential. You couldn't better it, from all the doctors, the nurses, to the people behind the desks, it was all absolutely marvellous.
In particular, one nurse, Pippa, who I see weekly, is always friendly and is always helpful. There's been a couple of times when I've been rushed to the hospital and she has always been right there, checking that everything is satisfactory. Also her deputy has been great.
Dr Coppell and Dr Lutfi have also been a great help these past few years. Not only have they been great with my medical care, but since my wife has moved into a home they have been exceptionally helpful and supportive with me trying to deal with being on my own.
Now that I'm moving from Devon to Essex, the nurse who has been transferring my info has done a first class job organising all my care transfers.
So basically, the standard of care has been exceptionally good, with a special shout out to Pippa and Lorna.
"An exceptional standard of care"
