"Being rushed into hospital with chest pains"

About: York Hospital / Accident and emergency York Hospital / Cardiology Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a volunteer/advocate),

The other morning, the person I look care for awoke with chest pains and used his Lifeline to summon help as he has learning difficulties.   He has told me that all the care he received, from the ambulance crew who came to his aid in Howden, through all the staff in A & E and the other departments where he was treated, could not have been better.   I won't say that he enjoyed the experience - who does? - but he was very much reassured by the kindness and attention he received.

Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. Firstly, I hope the person you care for has made a full recovery and is doing well. Secondly, it is really great to hear that he felt reassured and was treated kindly by staff. This is hugely important to our trust, so to read this is fantastic. I hope, should either of you ever need our services again, that you receive the same high standard of care as he did on this occasion. Thank you.
