"Patient Engagement with relatives "

After 2 week in home there has been no update of her progress or communication as to her situation. Calling the home is a challenge as the phone often goes to answer phone or rings off. The home mobile phone has been lost for 5 days and therefore calls to patients have been non existent due to mum not able to work mobile. 4 days ago was informed mums teeth were broken and her breathing was not good from my sister. On the fourth day of trying got through to reception to be told her teeth are okay and then 5 mins later the Dr said she had broken her tooth. Dont know what the protocol is when patients are taken away from families and placed in care homes but communication helps mental health massively for patients and in this case seems not to be top of list. Standard reply / excuse " things are not able to be normal due to Covid ".
