My 89 yr old father was admitted from a care home after becoming breathless. He tested negative for Covid and put on a Covid ward as he was clinically Covid. Trying to contact the ward regarding his progress was virtually impossible. Information given was minimal and not informative. I spoke to a doctor eventually, who was lovely.
Eventually at time of discharge he was sent back to his nursing home on end of life care. 2 weeks later after a fall he is back in A&E. I have just called the hospital to be told by an extremely rude doctor that they cant discuss my father over the phone. I asked why when we have been discussing his care whilst on the ward to be told to ring back and speak to the nurse in charge as this doctor didnt have time for these kind of conversations!
Apparently on his original discharge he was supposed to be offered end of life care at Willow ward. Neither my brother or myself were offered this as we would have gladly accepted.
