"Lack of communication "

About: Conquest Hospital

Been waiting over a good two! hours for an appointment they had booked me in for the next day after being here yesterday. Nurse team were talking about how awful the communication is and lack of response from doctors and how under appropriated they are. and I feel I have been just sat here and forgotten about. And when nurses and midwifes were coming up to me they would ask the same question over and over again. Just awful 38weeks 5 days!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback about your recent experience of care at Conquest Hospital; we very much appreciate it but as an organisation committed to providing all patients with a high standard of care and treatment, we are concerned to read about the length of time you were left waiting with little or no updates as to when you would be seen. This is not acceptable and we wish to offer our sincere apologies for the distress, worry and frustration this undoubtedly caused you, particularly given you are now approaching the 39th week of your pregnancy. It is also unacceptable for you to be in a position where you can hear staff speaking inappropriately about their colleagues and again, we apologise for this unprofessional conduct.

We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience to help us identify changes or improvements for future service delivery; if you would be happy to do this, then please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at esh-tr.palsh@nhs.net or you can call them on 0300 131 5309. They can also arrange for a senior member of staff to call you to hear more about the experience of care that you had if you would like that.

In the meantime, we will share your feedback with appropriate staff so that they can read and reflect on the experience of care you recently had. Please once again accept our apologies for the upset caused; we hope that when your appointment eventually took place, it was helpful and that plans are now in place for the imminent arrival of your beautiful baby. Please take care, rest up, stay safe and let staff know if you require any further assistance.
