In Oct 2020 I attended A&E at Northwick due to excessive and uncontrollable bleeding. After being seen by the nurse where blood samples were taken I shortly must have collapsed hitting my head on something in the process. After gaining conscious I was surprisingly surrounded by a crash team who swiftly took care of me in different ways and at all times respected my dignity.
Two ladies in particular stood out. 1) Rebecca. She stayed with me as long as she could, keeping my mind off my circumstances and it was just nice to have an informal chat even while I was being stitched up after cutting my eyebrow when I collapsed to all the injections and needles I had to endure . We almost shared the same surname which we joked about as the only difference was mine was doubled barrelled.
The other was a student nurse but unfortunately never got her name. All I know it was her first day on the area and she only had months to qualify. She was very conscious especially during what I consider times when you needed privacy.
Eventually I was admitted to the Eliot ward in the evening for overnight observation. One nurse Ninu again like Rebecca and the student nurse was very attentive and explained things well.
I'm writing this to highlight the good care that I received despite how busy the NHS are especially with COVID, and often we forget to say thank you or even make the time to write something positive.
I hope this messages reaches the team of nurses that looked after me, especially Rebecca, the student nurse and Ninu.
Thank you
"Excellent care received"
