"Maternity care"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

After an extremely traumatic first birth I was very anxious with my second pregnancy, however from day one the treatment I received was nothing short of exceptional. I was under the care of Mr Sim who knew my history and put a plan in place very early on. I had regular checkups and constant reassurance. I had an elective c-section and both Mr Sim and my midwife Helen were amazing. The care I received on the post natal ward was also fantastic nothing was too much trouble for the midwives even though they were rushed off their feet. The difference in my first and second birth was unbelievable and I cannot thank Mr Sim enough for everything he did for me.

Dear Aoibhee,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am sorry to hear that you experienced a difficult birth with your first baby. Having a plan in place for an elective c/section and working collaboratively with you with your choice of delivery obviously meant that you had a more positive experience second time and reduced your anxiety. I am so pleased you were happy with all of your care from both medical and midwifery staff. I will share your lovely comments with Mr Sim, Helen and all the staff involved.

I hope that you and your baby are doing well

Best wishes

Joanne McGlade
