"There should be someone available in person"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Child and Adolescent Mental Health

(as a parent/guardian),

My 14 year old daughter was referred to CAMHS in Feb and is still waiting to see someone. Counselling by telephone does not work for her. She needs a proper assessment and subsequent treatment. I understand that, where possible people should work from home/remotely but this is obviously not working for all patients and there should be someone available in person when required. I am concerned that her recovery rate will be severely affected by the length of time this is taking.

I feel very frustrated/angry that as a key worker I am expected to deal with 200 plus people each shift but it's impossible to find one person willing to sit with a young girl and help her get through this very difficult/dangerous time.

Dear Alicha,

Thank you for getting in touch with us regarding your daughter, this has clearly been a very worrying time for you.

In order to assist you, please can you contact my colleague Dougie with your daughter's name and date of birth: Dougie.Fraser@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Take care and kindest regards
