"A wonderful environment..."

I honestly don’t think I can fully enumerate the various ways in which my gran’s life has been enriched by the care given at Picktree Court. As a family, we were hesitant about the idea of her becoming a resident in a care home, as I’m sure many families are. But the staff there - from the cleaners to the carers, from the hairdresser to the handymen - have each contributed in some way to making my gran so happy in this last 12 months that she has been at Picktree Court.

The carers deserve a special mention, of course. My gran has enjoyed regaling us with tales of how each of them has been wonderful - whether it’s the medical support they provide, or simply taking 5 minutes to chat to her and make her feel at home. I honestly think she has made friends, and even family, there, and that thought has been such a comfort to all of us during the time that the pandemic has taken away. It is not lost on me, at all, that this time is taken from Picktree Court's staff too, who have been unable to see their own parents and grandparents, and that they have played the role of our family so wonderfully in our enforced absence.
