"Diagnosis"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

Told in April something was on my husbands lungs but COVID took over and no diagnosis was given. In August my husband was rushed into hospital as he thought he was having a heart attack and had a CT scan showing up blood clots which was clear but a CT scan of his lungs would have given him a diagnosis perhaps.

I was told recently bearing in mind this is from April that he needs to see a consultant but the consultant will not see him till he has had lung function test test. I rang the booking department and said the waiting list is March 2021 I was appalled and put in a complaint I was then contacted by the booking department to see if they could do anything but with COVID the department was basically on hold.

I have now got an appointment for my husband for next week but the stress and emotional side for both of us has been horrendous. This should not be happening COVID is killing people in other ways not just by the disease. I hope once my husband has had his test they will be very quick and the consultant will see him ASAP. They say on tv don’t put off going to the doctors but I’m sure I’m not the only one that says it’s a phone call if you can get one and then the doctor saying I will try but COVID is high in our area. What’s the point and that is why nobody is ringing the doctors because it seems like its a waste of time.
