"Online physio"

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a parent/guardian),

A month ago my daughter dislocated her knee and has been receiving online physiotherapy session, we feel 100% that these are doing more harm than good and feel we do not wish to continue with these sessions.   I don't think the physiotherapist is reading my daughter's notes before the session and it seems like we are just covering old ground - no progress has been made.   My daughter became so upset that she excused herself from one session and was in tears in our bathroom.   These sessions are causing more damage both physically and mentally than they are doing good.

Dear jivegw69

Please allow me to apolgise for the delay in responding to your post.

I was sorry to hear of you and your daughter's experience of her online physiotherapy sessions. I appreciate that some of the changes we have had to make due to the COVID-19 pandemic are difficult but we would not wish to cause any distress or discomfort to any of our patients.

It would be good to hear how your daughter is recovering or if there is anything further you wish to discuss? In which case, I wouldbe more than happy to assist. I can be contacted on; Laura.Harvey@aapct.scot.nhs.uk

Best Wishes

Laura
