"This service is not fit for Purpose "

Vulnerable young people are being left to fend for themselves. They face extended waiting times and even once they gain access to the services CAMHS seem unable to offer the right level of help to those in need. The blame is mostly due to under funding but often systems that are broken can only be changed by those working within them.

North-West Sussex CAMHS is sorry to see this feedback and any impact of service delivery experienced in a negative way. There are increased pressures on CAMHS services nationally and we are working hard to try to ensure that we respond to young people and their families in a timely way. We have a dedicated duty worker who can respond to young people and their families as they contact us. Through our assessments we plan with the young person and family what interventions may be most appropriate. Whilst waiting for their intervention, we ensure that there is a care-plan in place should the young person 's situation deteriorate or worsen. It is helpful to be able to respond to individual concerns as they arise and would encourage this feedback to be shared via our PALS department to ensure this person's concerns are addressed appropriately.
